If you Google "premature ejaculation causes," the first thing you’ll see is psychological causes like anxiety. It’s often touted as the main reason for premature ejaculation (PE). Years ago, everyone thought PE was purely psychological, but that’s absolutely not true — it’s total bullshit. Here’s the real deal: anxiety or stress don’t cause PE, but they can make it worse if you’ve got a genetic predisposition.
In this post, we’ll unpack:
- Why anxiety isn’t the big bad wolf of PE
- Why it's mostly genetics
- What to do about lifelong vs acquired PE
- How to take charge of your sex life
Why Anxiety Isn’t the Big Bad Wolf of PE
Anxiety gets blamed as the top cause of premature ejaculation, but if you stop and think, that’s nonsense.
There are millions of guys out there with anxiety who don’t have PE. Why? Because anxiety alone doesn’t cause it — it only amps things up if you’ve already got the genetic setup for PE.
Here’s the straight truth: if you don’t have the genetic factors — like hyperarousability, low serotonin levels, or oversensitive glans — you can be as anxious all you want, and PE won’t show up.
Millions of men have high stress or anxiety but don’t develop PE. Some even struggle to finish at all.
If anxiety was the real culprit, they’d have PE too, right? But they don’t. Why? They’re genetically different.
Anxiety doesn’t cause PE — it can worsen it if the genetic pieces are already in place, but it doesn’t start the fire.
Genetics: The Real Cause for LPE
So what’s this genetic predisposition for premature ejaculation? It’s stuff like:
- Hyperarousability
- Lower serotonin levels or unfavorable serotonin genes
- Oversensitive glans
- Other similar factors
If that’s baked into your genetic blueprint — your fucking genes — then anxiety can reveal PE or make it worse. But if you don’t have those genetic traits — no hyperarousability, no low serotonin, no oversensitive glans — anxiety can’t touch you. You won’t develop PE, no matter how stressed you are.
Think about it: millions of guys deal with high anxiety and stress but never get PE. Genetics load the gun — anxiety just pulls the trigger if the gun’s already loaded.
Lifelong vs Acquired PE
If you’re dealing with PE and anxiety, first you need to identify the type of PE. Is it acquired or lifelong (genetic)?
Acquired PE
This can come from:
- Side effects of medications
- Recently stopping antidepressants after long-term use
- Prostatitis or similar conditions
If it’s acquired, talk to a doctor. If the cause is fixable — say, antibiotics for prostatitis — you can get back to normal fast. That’s rare, though.
Lifelong PE
This is genetic. You can’t rewrite your DNA, but you can still last longer by learning and applying the right methods.
For lifelong PE, you should work on your anxiety, limiting beliefs, and unrealistic expectations during sex. A lot of guys have this huge monster in their head — a cluster of limiting beliefs and self-expectations that crank up anxiety and turn sex into a test instead of fun. Coaching can help you ditch that monster.
Here’s the funny part: my methods can work even if you keep your anxiety. Follow my system step by step, and it basically forces you to last longer.
Take Charge of Your Sex Life
No matter how much anxiety you’ve got — whether it’s lifelong or acquired PE — you can always have amazing, long sex without worrying about letting your partner down. You won’t need to go super slow — you’ll be able to thrust quickly and enjoy great sex.
Take me as proof: I’m genetically super anxious (even if I don’t seem like it), and I’m a lifelong premature ejaculator. If I don’t use my methods, I finish fast. But I’ve got my system down pat, and it works.
Want to kick PE to the curb? Here’s the plan:
- Find the cause: Acquired or lifelong? If it’s acquired, fix the root issue if you can.
- Take action: For lifelong PE, learn and use methods to last longer — genes don’t have to win.
