If you have PE and consume PORN, you might be asking yourself:
"Does my porn (over-)consumption trigger, cause, or worsen premature ejaculation (PE)?"
If you ask yourself this question, you're not alone - thousands of guys on Reddit and forums claim excessive porn consumption started or triggered their PE.
So in this post, we’ll break down:
- why porn NEVER causes PE
- what are the real causes of PE
- what you can do to last longer in bed
Porn is NOT the cause for PE
Porn never was and never will be the cause of PE. I'll explain why below.
But porn is not good for sex in general. It's very bad for your erection and can boost performance anxiety. Seeing guys with huge bananas having sex for hours sets unrealistic expectations, making you compare yourself and feel inadequate.
All that can worsen PE if you’re already predisposed, but does it cause it? Absolutely not.
→ If porn caused PE, every man would have it.
Millions of men masturbate to porn daily—probably the same way you do—for hours, yet they don’t develop PE. Some even struggle to finish, needing a “death grip” to get off.
Why? Are they different? Hell yes they are - genetically different.
Studies Confirm: Porn Doesn’t Cause Premature Ejaculation
A 2021 study* in Males Aged 18-44 Years, published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine, provides clear evidence that internet pornography (IP) use does not cause premature ejaculation (PE).
The researchers surveyed 942 heterosexual men aged 18-44 and examined whether IP use or self-perceived IP addiction was linked to sexual dysfunctions like PE, erectile dysfunction (ED), and sexual satisfaction (SS). Their findings? There was no association between IP use alone and PE, ED, or SS. Instead, they discovered a small to moderate connection between self-perceived IP addiction and these issues, suggesting that it’s not the act of watching porn that’s the problem, but how some men view their own habits.
The study concludes that subjective perceptions of IP use, rather than the use itself, may contribute to sexual difficulties.

The Real Causes of Premature Ejaculation
First, there are roughly two types of PE: acquired and lifelong.
- Acquired PE: This can come from drug abuse, medication side effects, quitting antidepressants or anti-anxiety drugs, or spinal injuries. It’s clearly not caused by porn.
- Lifelong PE: This is trickier—it’s genetic. If your blueprint includes hyper-arousability, over-sensitive glans, low serotonin, or unfavorable serotonin genes, you’ve got lifelong PE.
Some think lifelong PE is from porn overconsumption, but that’s wrong — it’s in your DNA. If porn caused PE, millions of men jerking off daily would have it, yet they don’t. They lack the genetic predisposition. If you’ve got it, porn might worsen or reveal it, but it’s not the root cause.
Can Porn Help with PE by DESENSITIZATION?
So, if porn can't cause PE, can maybe even help ? By... desensitizing you visually?
Logically, if you watch a lot of porn, you might desensitize yourself to visual stimuli and last longer, right? Yes, partially — it can help a bit - as long as you don't overdo it, or you’ll risk erection problems from too much desensitization.
In my Lover Stamina coaching, in phase 1 my clients are allowed to use porn while learning all the methods and techniques. But after that - it’s a complete stop - no porn, no masturbation only the real deal. After learning all my methods and techniques you SAVE your precious sexual energy for real partners and real sex. That’s how we do it, baby!
Porn addicted + PE ?
If you’re addicted to porn and have PE, here’s your next steps:
- Stop porn ASAP. At least don’t overconsume — minimize it as much as possible.
- Understand stopping porn won’t fix PE. It’ll improve your erection quality naturally, but lasting longer needs more.
- Identify your PE type. If it’s acquired (recent), remove the cause if you can. If it’s lifelong (since your first time, possible diseases ruled out), then learn a solid methodology to last longer which I teach in my courses and coaching (book a free call here).
You can use porn a little while learning techniques, as long as you don’t overdo it. And again - quitting porn boosts your potency, but won't make you last longer.
